<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce high purity dog follistatin. <P>SOLUTION: Dog follistatin specifically inhibiting basic secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone by acting to the dog pituitary gland without inhibiting basic secretion of luteinizing hormone and having binding ability with activin and ability as its antagonist.A DNA sequence coding for dog follistatin, a recombinant vector containing the DNA sequence, a transformant prepared by transforming a host with the recombinant vector are claimed.
