PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct-injection engine capable of reducing cooling loss during a warm time, and promoting warming-up of the engine during a cold time.SOLUTION: A fuel injection control portion having a fuel injection valve 6 forms an air-fuel mixture layer and a heat insulating gas layer around the air-fuel mixture layer in a combustion chamber by implementing fuel injection several times when an engine body (engine 1) is warm. When the engine body is cold, the fuel injection is implemented several times while narrowing a time interval between the injections in comparison with a time interval in the warm time so that a local equivalent ratio becomes higher than that in the warm time with the same required injection amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
