<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the sealing device which improves the friction characteristic securing the sealing performance in the sealing device the main seal lip of which used for a shock absorber is single-step seal lip structure. <P>SOLUTION: A roughened processing part 63 where the stain finished processing for making the asperity on the surface is formed in a position which is spaced by a specified distance from the lip edge 62 on the sliding face 61 that a main seal lip 6 slides to a counter member. The range from the lip edge 62 to the area which forms the roughened processing part 63 is to be a plain part 64 without satin finished processing to make uneven.
