PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin which can be obtained by a polycondensation reaction using a specified Ti catalyst and can give excellently transparent hollow containers inexpensively or in high productivity by controlling the moisture content of polyester pellets before being injection-molded at a specified value and thereby suppressing the effect of the Ti catalyst on decomposition during injection molding. SOLUTION: The polyester resin is characterized in that the difference (generation amount) is at most 3 ppm between the acetaldehyde content of a molding obtained by injection-molding pellets by using an injection blow molding machine at a cylinder temperature of 265 to 290°C at a molding cycle of 25 sec and the acetaldehyde content of the pellets before being molded.
