The device (1) has a liquid distributor (3) for supplying cleaning liquid from a liquid inlet towards liquid outlets connected to corresponding wiping zones (4, 5) e.g. passenger and driver side windscreen zones. A flow restrictor (9) e.g. proportional solenoid valve, is positioned between the liquid distributor and one of the wiping zones. A control unit (11) i.e. electronic control module, is connected to the flow restrictor to control the flow of cleaning liquid supplied towards the wiping zone based on angular positions of wiper blades (6, 7).
