In the present invention, a current exceeding the nominal capacity is set as a first charging current, and the measured voltage of a secondary cell is compared to a first threshold voltage that is lower than a specified charging voltage while performing constant-current charging using the set first charging current. If the measured voltage is greater than the first threshold voltage, the first charging current is reduced and defined as a second charging current, and the first threshold voltage is increased by a prescribed amount and defined as a second threshold voltage. The measured voltage of the secondary cell is compared to the second threshold voltage, which is lower than the specified charging voltage, while performing constant-current charging with the set second charging current. If the measured voltage is greater than the second threshold voltage, the second charging current is reduced and defined as a third charging voltage, and the second threshold voltage is increased by a prescribed amount and defined as a third threshold voltage. When an nth charging current is reduced to a prescribed value and the measured voltage is greater than the prescribed value, a control for ending fast charging is performed. |
