PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict adhesion of dust and so on to a surface of a document, which surface is to be read.SOLUTION: In a digital copying device 1, an image reading part that reads an image of a document is disposed below a pressure plate part 5, and a document is inserted between the pressure plate part 5 and the image reading part. Using a carrying part, the digital copying device 1 carries an inserted document into the image reading part. However, a document table roller part 12 is disposed in the position of the upstream end part of a document table 11 in the direction in which a document is carried. If a document is a long-sized one, the digital copying device 1 moves the document table roller part 12 to a separate position in a higher position. While separating a surface of the document, which side is to be read, from the document table 11 by use of the document table roller part 12, the digital copying device carries the document between the pressure plate part and the image reading part, thereby restricting adhesion of dust and so on to the reading part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
