An equalizer using estimated noise power is provided to maximize signal-to-noise of an equalized signal by calculating and applying an initial coefficient based on power of noise on the assumption that the noise is included in a signal received through an antenna. An equalizer includes at least one of noise power estimators(130-1 to 130-L), a combined linear equalizer(111), a subtracter, and a noise predictor. At least one of the noise power estimators(130-1 to 130-L) estimates channel impulse response and noise based on signals received through antennas and calculates a signal-to-noise power ratio. The combined linear equalizer(111) calculates an initial coefficient based on the channel impulse response and an SNR power ratio and equalizes received data by using the initial coefficient, so that an equalized signal having the maximum SNR is output. The subtrater removes predicted noise from the equalized signal to output a finally equalized signal. The noise predictor(117) predicts the predicted noise to output the predicted noise to the subtrater.
