PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for treating cancer resistant to ErbB therapy.SOLUTION: Disclosed herein is a method for treating a cancer that is resistant to the treatment with an anti-ErbB therapeutic agent, and associated with an activated MET gene mutation or a MET gene amplification. According to this method, a combination of an anti-ErbB therapeutic and an anti-MET therapeutic is administered to a subject. Also provided is a method for reducing ErbB mediated signaling or PI3 kinase mediated signaling in cancer cells. In certain embodiments, this cancer may be lung cancer, brain cancer, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, colon cancer, ovarian cancer, gastric cancer or pancreatic cancer.
