PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a bead without fail upon starting the coating of a web so as to prevent the formation of a thick coat part and coat the web uniformly. SOLUTION: The coater 10 to be provided is comprised of a backup roller 13, a slide bead coater 14, a decompression chamber 15, and a spray nozzle 16. The slide bead coater 14 includes a discharge slit 20, a solution supply port 21, a front end lip 22, and a slide surface 23. When the aluminum web 11 wound around the backup roller 13 moves to a position close to the slide bead coater 14, a spray nozzle 16 sprays a gas on the front end lip 22, and the bead is formed between the front end lip 22 and the aluminum web 11.
