1398115 Two-part couplings SIEMENS AG 7 Sept 1972 [7 Sept 1971] 41450/72 Heading H2E Connectors 3, 10 for connecting a p.c. board 2 to a rack (not shown), have receptacles 5, 6 and 12 for indexing wafers (Fig. 2), which prevent insertion of a board into the wrong position. Several types of wafer are provided (Fig. 4, not shown). The ridges 8 and gaps 9 on all the wafers are arranged according to a specified plan so that each wafer can be used with either connector 3, 10 and can be inserted either way round but in all cases will mate only with its correct counterpart, correctly inserted. The wafers have recesses (21, 22, Fig. 3, not shown), which snap over projection 23 on the connector bodies. Connector 3 comprises blade contacts (16, 17, Fig. 3, not shown), with lugs 4 soldered to the board 2 and holes (18, 19) for the entry of pin contacts 11.
