EUROPE BV 11 June 1976 [11 June 1975] 24191/76 Headings B5A and B5B A film 4 of a plastics material, e.g. PVC or polyurethane is applied as a plastisol gel or solution by a feeding device 5 in a layer of uniform thickness on an endless carrier 3 provided with thin oblique projections or needles 8 extending at an angle of 15-25 degrees relative to the surface of the carrier. The sheet formed is passed through a heating tunnel 6 and taken off on roll 7. In forming the sheet the projections extend at least up to the upper surface of the layer of plastics material and the material so formed contains diagonal passages connecting both surfaces thereof, the ratio of the diameter and the length of said passages being between 1 : 10 to 1 : 50. The sheet is 0À1-0À5 mm. thick and the passages have a diameter of 0À03 mm. Needles on carrier 3 may be in rows 3 mm. apart with 2 mm. between each row.
