摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optoelectronic display element wherein the hysteresis to be an obstacle to gradation display is eliminated and halftone display can be realized, in an optoelectronic display element using a liquid crystal layer structure having high twist angle of >270 deg.. SOLUTION: An irregular and fine rugged face is formed on at least one surface on the liquid crystal layer 7 side of a first and a second transparent electrodes 3 and 4 disposed sandwiching the liquid crystal layer 7. For example, by forming the surface of the second transparent electrode 4 in a rugged shape, the layer thickness d1 and d2 of the liquid crystal layer 7 partially differ from each other and intensity values of the electric field in the liquid crystal layer 7 partially differ from one another. Thus, the hystereses of respective parts are canceled by parts having thresholds of voltage different from one another and the hysteresis is eliminated as the whole liquid crystal layer 7 and the halftone display can be realized.
