PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder-containing water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic having good extensibility on the skin, excellent in emollient properties and moisture retention and duration of their effects and having no stickiness and oiliness. SOLUTION: The powder-containing water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic contains an ester of a branched fatty acid with a branched alcohol. The ester is isostearyl pivalate. The cosmetic contains 0.1-30 mass% isostearyl pivalate based on the total amount of a composition. The cosmetic contains one or more species of titanium oxide, zinc oxide and cerium oxide.
