<p>Title cpds have formula (I): where R1, R2 and R3 = H,OH,SH, (1-4C) alkyl, (1-4C)O-alkyl, (1-4C) S-alkyl, (3-6C) cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, aryl, hal, NH2, NH(1-4C) alkyl, N/(1-4C) alkyl/2, CN, CO2H, (1-5C) CO2 alkyl, opt. substd. CONH2, or CHO, >=1 being other than H, O alkyl or a hydrocarbon residue; A = (2-6C) alkylene, X = O or S, and Z = H, hal, CF3, (1-4C) alkyl, (1-4C) O-alkyl, or (1-4C) S alkyl. (I) are prepd. (a) by condensing a 4-halo-pyrimidine with apiperazinyl alkanol or alkane thil, (b) similarly from a substd. piperazine and 4-O- or S-(omega-haloalkane), or (c) by in situ synthesis of the piperazinyl residue e.g. from an amine and an N (bis-bromo ethane) deriv.</p> |
