REVEROMYCIN B, C AND C, THEIR PRODUCTION, ANTITUMOR AGENT AND ANTIMYCOTIC AGENT

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the new antibiotic substance having proliferation inhibiting action on cancer cell and useful as an antitumor agent and an antimycotic agent. CONSTITUTION:The antibiotic substance reveromycin B of formula I (R1 is H; R2 is COCH2CH2COOH) and the antibiotic substance reveromycins C and D of formula II (R1 is H; R2 is COCH2CH2COOH; one of R3 and R4 is H and the other is methyl; R3 is methyl for reveromycin C and is H for reveromycin D). A bacterial strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces and capable of producing antibiotic reveromycins, e.g. Streptomyces sp. SN-593 (FERM BP-3406) is cultured and the objective reveromycins B, C and/or D are separated from the cultured product.
