PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable overprinting varnish composition good in blocking resistance in printing film winding operation and giving coating film of high heat resistance. SOLUTION: This biodegradable overprinting varnish composition comprises (A) an aliphatic polyester including polylactic acid segment and polyglycerol segment and having the molar ratio of L-lactic acid to D-lactic acid (L/D) of 1-9, a reduced viscosity of 0.3-1.0 dL/g and a hydroxy group concentration of 100-500 eq./10<6> g, (B) a polyfunctional isocyanate and (C) a solvent.
