PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of safing sensor in getting rid of any branching in an inner part of this sensor by installing a malfunction detector contact at the normal-close contact side of a transfer type reed switch, and an air bag igniter terminal at the normal-open contact, respectively. CONSTITUTION: At the time of a car crash, first of all, a safing sensor SS1 detects the impact at low acceleration, and a switch contact S11 is closed. Next, a G sensor 12 further detects the impact at higher acceleration, and a microcomputer 11 performs its final judgement that it is a collision, emitting an ignition signal, and thereby a switching transistor Tr1 for ignition current control is turned to ON. In consequence, a loop of all circuits for those of power E1-safening sensor SS1ignition element SC-ignition current controlling switching transistor Tr1-earth is completed, whereby a current flow therein and this ignition element SC is ignited. In this constitution, a detector is always monitored, and that any branching of wiring in the safening sensor becomes eliminated and thus the reliability is improved.
