PURPOSE:To allow a top stop to be fixed certainly and accurately by a method wherein a top stop is held between a horn and an anvil, and a continuous fastener chain is inserted through the top stop from the head part, then the top stop is caulked and welded by the horn and anvil. CONSTITUTION:A top stop 3 which is bent into a U-shape and is made of synthetic resin is held between an anvil 27 and a horn 2 3 with the opening open, and the anvil 26 and horn 23 are moved on a feed line E of a continuous fastener chain 1 as they are, then the fastener chain 1 is moved and inserted through the top stop 3. Next, the top stop is pressed between the anvil 27 and horn 23 and caulked and welded to a fastener tape, then the anvil 27 and horn 23 are opened, and the part to which the top stop 3 of the continuous fastener chain 1 is fixed is moved out of the anvil 27, and the fastener chain 1 is let off. |
