Web coating applicator

The applicator, for the direct application of a liquid or paste coating to a moving web of paper or cardboard, has identical zone widths (bv, be) at the initial (V) and final (E) dosing units. Also claimed is an operation to adjust the lateral profile as required. An initial lateral profile correction is applied by the setting unit at the initial dosing stage (V), with a second correction by the setter at the final dosing system (E). Both the corrections, together form the total lateral profile correction.
