PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain bis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)cyclohexanol useful as a polymer material modifier, to provide a method for producing bis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) cyclohexanol, to obtain a polymer material composition having excellent flexural modulus and flexural strength and a polymer material modifier capable of improving melt fluidity, flexibility at a low temperature and mechanical characteristics such as flexural modulus, flexural strength, etc., of polymer material, having no bleed and a low smell. SOLUTION: Bis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)cyclohexanol is shown by the formula. This method for producing bis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)cyclohexanol comprises hydrogenating bis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol. This polymer material composition is obtained by adding bis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)cyclohexanol to a polymer material. This polymer material modifier comprises bis(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) cyclohexanol.
