The longitudinal edges of the sheet are pivotably secured to arms 7a, 7b the other ends of which are pivotable connected to a carrier body 10, and the area along the longitudinal axis of the sheet is secured to rods 12a (12b) Fig. 2 (not shown) telescopically mounted in tubes 11a, (11b) secured to the body 10. Movement of the rods 12a, (12b) relative to the body adjusts the curvature of the sheet to suit that of the object to be lifted. A net 5 is mounted across the article engaging face of the sheet to prevent closure of the vacuum part (not shown), by the object.</p> |
