PURPOSE:To obtain a small and light copying device that can copy an original of large size by moving intermittently a device main body and a sheet of recording paper in a subscan direction, moving synchronously a reader and a recorder in the device main body at each termination in a main scan direction, and performing a reading and a recording. CONSTITUTION:When a timer 3 is operated with a switch SW, a motor 30 is driven, and through belts 29 and 34, a reader 21 and a recorder 22 in a device main body 2 are moved synchronously in the Z direction, and a reading element 26 reads an image on an original 1 by every width of CD cover a length of PQ. Simultaneously, an original image is recorded on a sheet of recording paper 10 with a thermal head 31 which moves on the sheet of recording paper 10. Next, a switch SW2 is operated, and a switch 37 and a timer 2 are operated, then, a motor 5 is driven, and the automatic travelling of the device main body 2 by share of CD in the X direction is performed with rollers 3 and 4, then being terminated. At such a time, rollers 11-14 sides are also driven, and the sheet of recording paper 10 is also carried by share of CD, then being terminated. When the switch SW3 is operated again, the reader 21 and the recorder 22 perform the reading and the recording moving in the Z direction adversely. Hereafter, the above operation is repeated.
