PURPOSE:To form uniform build-up metal layers with good efficiency and simple operation, by supplying a band-like metal of a dissimilar kind on the surface of a base material continuously is a forward inclined position and irradiating a laser beam to a weldzone further from the forward inclined angle than the band-like metal. CONSTITUTION:A band-like metal 4 for build-up welding is supplied continuously to the surface of a base material 1 from the forward side in the welding advance direction. At the same time, a laser beam 3 is irradiated toward a weldzone W from between the bottom surface of the metal 4 and the surface of the material 1. The supply angle theta1 of the metal 4 is 10-45 deg. and the irradiating angle theta2 of the laser beam is 5-20 deg. and most preferably in a (1/2theta1+ or -3 deg.) range. Then the reflected rays of the beam 3 repeat reflection between the surface of the material 1 and the rear face of the metal 4 and all are conducted to the weldzone W, so that all of the beam energy is effectively utilized for build-up welding. |
