Disclosed is a polarizer containing a quantum dot. The polarizer comprises: a first protective layer (12); and a second protective layer (14). The first protective layer (12) or the second protective layer (14) is a composite film containing a quantum dot (121), thereby effectively improving color gamut and transmittance without increasing a thickness of a display. The polarizer containing the quantum dot has low costs and is applicable to an ultra-thin display device. Also disclosed is a manufacturing method of the polarizer containing the quantum dot, comprising: adding a quantum dot to a collodion configured to form a protective layer; performing an extension method or a coating method to form a composite film containing the quantum dot and obtain a protective layer containing the quantum dot; and using the protective layer containing the quantum dot as a first protective layer (12) or a second protective layer (14) to manufacture the polarizer containing the quantum dot. The method can protect a quantum dot from being affected by moisture and oxygen, thereby reducing the number of individual quantum dot devices to be manufactured in a display device, and reducing production costs. Moreover, the method is simple and can be implemented easily. |
