PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roundness measuring machine capable of highly accurately performing evaluation of shape precision of various types such as roundness and cylindricity of a workpiece, with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: In the roundness measuring machine, a position in a vertical direction (a position in the vertical direction of a measurement cross-section) that causes a probe 36 of a detector 34 to come in contact with a columnar workpiece W is sequentially changed, and the detector 34 is rotated around a rotation center A0 by making a spindle 24 rotate in the measurement cross-section of each position, thereby measuring three-dimensional shape data of the columnar workpiece W. At this time, first measurement and second measurement are executed. In the first measurement, a carriage 20 is moved in the vertical direction so as to move the detector 34 in the vertical direction. In the second measurement, a detector holder 32 is moved in the vertical direction so as to move the detector 34 in the vertical direction. The shape data obtained by the first measurement and the second measurement, respectively, are combined, so that errors caused unique to each measurement are eliminated to obtain highly accurate shape data. |
