PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that suppresses generation of iridescent speckles when an oriented polyester film is used as a polarizer protective film for both of a pair of polarizing plates.SOLUTION: A polarizer protective film is provided, including a coating layer on at least one surface of an oriented polyester film. The oriented polyester film shows a retardation of 4000 to 30000 nm and an Nz coefficient of 1.70 or less. The coating layer contains a polyvinyl alcohol resin and a polyester resin and has a nanophase separation structure on the surface thereof comprising a phase of aggregation of the polyvinyl alcohol resin and a phase of aggregation of the polyester resin, in which an area ratio of the polyvinyl alcohol phase is 30% or more and less than 99%. |
