PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having high aberration performance and a compact configuration while having a large diameter, being bright and having a high variable ratio.SOLUTION: The zoom lens comprises, in order from an object side: a first lens group G1 with positive refractive power; a second lens group G2 with negative refractive power; and a third lens group G3 with positive refractive power. The third lens group G3 with positive refractive power comprises, in order from the object side: a first lens component with positive refractive power; and a second lens component with negative refractive power. The second lens component with negative refractive power comprises two or more lenses. The zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expressions (1) and (2): (1) 0.06<d3_12air/&Sgr;d3_12<0.2, and (2) 2.2<f3/fw<3.7, where d3_12air is the air interval between the first lens component and the second lens component, &Sgr;d3_12 is the distance on the optical axis between the lens surface closest to the object side in the first lens component and the lens surface closest to the image side in the second lens component, f3 is the focal length of the third lens group, and fw is the focal length of the entire zoom lens system at the wide angle end. |
