In an aerostatic bearing (1) for a rotatable rotor (2), which has an axis of rotation and a bearing surface (7) extending radially with respect to the axis of rotation, a bearing element (22) is arranged non-rotatably in a bore in a housing (10). The bearing element (22) has a counterbearing surface (26) interacting with the bearing surface (7), and at least one supply duct (28), which opens into the counterbearing surface (26), for compressed air, and is mounted movably in the direction of the axis of rotation counter to mutually opposed forces determining the position of said bearing element in the housing (10) and is in operative engagement with a damping body (35) which is designed for the vibration damping of the axial movements of the bearing element (22). |
