FIELD: radio engineering, communication.SUBSTANCE: base station device has a radio-frequency transceiver, a network interface and a processor with a communication application and communication session management software. Wireless communication with the said associated wireless terminal is handled by another base station device. Thus, the base station can manage the separate operation of its upper and lower layers, thereby enabling the hand-over of a session to and from other base stations.
