PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium air battery which can achieve a higher output than outputs of conventional well-known ones.SOLUTION: A magnesium air battery is arranged so as to use a magnesium alloy as an active material of a negative electrode, and oxygen in the air as an active material of a positive electrode. The magnesium alloy includes 6-10.5 mass% of lithium, and 0.5-3 mass% of zinc with the balance consisting of magnesium and inevitable impurities. It is particularly preferable that the magnesium alloy includes 9 mass% of lithium and 1 mass% of zinc with the balance consisting of magnesium and inevitable impurities.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
