The present invention relates to a vortex preventing device of an underwater roof type vertical pump chamber capable of preventing a malfunction of a vertical pump by stably preventing vortexes underwater to prevent an intake of air bubbles into the vertical pump by installing vortex preventing bars in the underside of an underwater roof while installing the underwater roof inside the vertical pump chamber wherein the vertical pump is installed. The vortex preventing device of the underwater roof type vertical pump chamber includes the underwater roof (300) installed in the water inside the vertical pump chamber (200) and enabling seawater received through the bottom of the vertical pump chamber (200) to be supplied to the inside of the vertical pump (100) and the vortex preventing bars (400) installed to be projected while forming the underside of the underwater roof (300) to be uneven and preventing vortexes by colliding with the seawater flowing into the vertical pump chamber (200).
