[Problem] To provide a protective film resin that can be cured by radiation such as UV and that has excellent environment resistance and scratch resistance as a protective film for a metal nanowire. [Solution] A protective film resin in which a polyisocyanate compound (Q) or a compound (R) comprising a (meth)acryloyl group and an isocyanate group is bound to at least a part of an aliphatic oxide ring-opening addition section (B) of a hydroxyl-containing polyurethane resin characterized by the provision of: a polyurethane skeleton (A) having a carboxyl group; and the aliphatic oxide ring-opening addition section (B), which is bound to at least a part of the carboxyl group and which comprises an alkene oxide ring-opening addition section represented by formula (b1) or an cycloalkane oxide ring-opening addition section represented by formula (b2). In formula (b1), n1 is an integer of 1-50 and R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-16 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group. In formula (b2), n2 is an integer of 1-10 and Z represents an atomic group that forms an alicyclic hydrocarbon group having 4-14 carbon atoms including two carbon atoms which are bound by Z.
