Disclosed is a robot cleaner. An objective of the present invention is to provide a robot cleaner and a control method thereof which can drive while performing wet cleaning. The robot cleaner comprises: a main body; a drive unit disposed on the main body to supply power for driving the robot cleaner; a first and a second rotational member rotating about a first rotary shaft and a second rotary shaft, respectively, by the power of the drive unit, on which cleaners for wet cleaning can be fixed; a light emitting unit to emit planar light towards a surface to be cleaned located in a driving direction of the robot cleaner; a photographing unit to photograph a cleansing area including the emitted planar light, and generate an image corresponding to the photographed cleaning area; and a control unit to use the image to determine whether there is a falling point in the cleaning area, and control the drive unit according to a determination result to avoid the falling point. |
