<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator with a cold storage function, capable of preventing breakage of a cold storage material container and reducing variation of discharged air temperature in cooling. <P>SOLUTION: In the evaporator with a cold storage function, a heat-exchange core unit 4 includes: a plurality of refrigerant circulation tubes 13, and a plurality of cold storage material containers 16 including a cold storage material R. The cold storage material R in the cold storage material container 16 is cooled by the cold heat of refrigerant circulated in the refrigerant circulation tube 13. A cold storage material storage portion 26 for storing the cold storage material R and a pressure relief space 27 communicating with the cold storage material storage portion 26, the pressure escape space making the internal capacity of the cold storage material storage portion 26 smaller than the internal capacity of the cold storage material container 16, are provided within the cold storage material container 16 so that the upper portion of the cold storage material storage portion 26 and the pressure relief space 27 are aligned in a ventilation direction.
