PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a detector thus to reduce the entire size by specifying the boundary at the size for projecting the particle to the magnetic field while providing a position sensitive particle detector between said boundary and the random point. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic pole 103 is contained in a vacuum container 101 to form an uniform magnetic field to the direction perpendicular with the drawing the profile of said magnetic field will follow the formula of the particle projection boundary of the magnetic filed which is the arch around point P assuming the (x) and (y) coordinate of the random point P at the outside of the magnetic field are (1) and (c). The incident edge portion 107 of the magnetic pole 103 in the proximity of the charged particle is also formed into an arch around the point P, where said incident edge portion 107 and the projection edge portion 106 are the continuous arch around the point P and a position sensitive particle detector 108 is provided between said edge portion 106 and the point P while facing with said edge portion 106. Consequently the size of the detector and the entire device can be reduced. |
