[Also in Division C3] Shoe soles and insoles are made from a foam material which is prepared by bonding together a mixture of particles of a foamed flexible or semiflexible polyurethane resin and particles of a resilient granular filler. The foamed particles may be of polyester- or polyether-based polyurethane and comprise 25-80 wt. per cent of the mixture. The granular filler may be cork, or, less preferably, rigid or semirigid polyurethane foam or foam rubber. Preferred particle mixtures contain 20-30 wt. per cent of cork. The bonding agent is preferably foaming, e.g. a flexible, semiflexible or semirigid polyurethane foam. |
