A method for improving the grade performance of vehicles is provided to reduce the size of a clutch by increasing the engine torque the moment a vehicle goes up a slope way. A method for improving the grade performance of vehicles comprises the steps of (S1) determining whether the pneumatic pressure of a tire sensed at a tire pneumatic pressure sensor is the reference pressure or more; (S2) recognizing the vehicle is on a slope if the pneumatic pressure of a tire is the reference pressure or more, and increasing the engine torque to the suitable minimum torque; (S3) determining whether the vehicle tries to go up a slope way if the engine torque increases to the minimum torque; and (S4) going up the vehicle along a slope way stably if the vehicle tries to go up a slope way, and (S5) increasing the engine torque over the minimum torque step by step at the state where the vehicle stops on a slope way if the vehicle tries not to go up a slope way. |
