<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap as a mechanism for preventing wrong pump operation which can surely prevent the wrong leakage of a content liquid at and after attachment thereof while having a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: This cap 10 for pump container is fitted to a container which jets the content liquid housed in the container body from a nozzle 3 which projects from a front half part of a pump head 1 by depressing the pump head 1 which is installed on the upper part of the container body, and disables the depressing operation of the pump head 1. The cap 10 includes: a peripheral wall portion 12 which surrounds the periphery of the pump head 1, and at the same time, for which a vertical groove 11 for fitting a nozzle 3 in is installed; a top wall portion 13 which integrally connects with the upper end part of the peripheral wall portion 12; a nozzle covering portion 14 which projects from the upper side of the vertical groove 11 of the peripheral wall portion 12, and covers the nozzle 3 under a state being fitted on the container 1; and a plurality of vertical ribs 16 which are vertically hung from the internal surface 15 of the top wall portion 13.
