PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processor which can simplify the control for a thermal head when a code is printed even when a code printing function for printing a prescribed code to a medium is carried out by the thermal head in addition to the printing function to the medium.

SOLUTION: The medium processor includes a medium conveying mechanism for conveying the medium 2 and the thermal head for printing to the medium 2 by a thermal method. A block code 51 comprising a plurality of blocks 52 with width W in the conveying direction X of the medium 2 that is approximately constant and lined up in the conveying direction X is printed on the medium 2 by the thermal head in this medium processor.
