<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methods for reducing acoustic noise in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus and method to reduce noise in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems are provided. One MRI system (40) includes a gantry (30) having a bore therethrough and at least one radio frequency (RF) coil (22) supported by the gantry for imaging an object within the bore.
