In concentrating by flotation ores and minerals the solubility of which exceeds 0,04 gm. per litre the solubility of the ore or mineral to be floated is diminished by the addition of the same ions as those liberated in the solution by the ore or mineral. In concentrating sulphates, e.g. gypsum, a sulphate solution is added, for example calcium sulphate, and in treating minerals sending halogen ions into solution, halides are used. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the flotation of cryolite with the addition of sodium fluoride to the pulp. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
|
