Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications. Provided are a method and RNC for reducing delay, capable of reducing a call delay generated when a calling UE is calling a called UE, thus enhancing user experience. The method comprises: an RNC launches a process for the RNC to establish an RB with a UE; before the RNC transmits an RB Setup message to the UE, the RNC receives an RAB assignment request transmitted by an MSC; and, before the RNC receives an RB Setup Complete message transmitted by the UE, the RNC constructs and transmits an RAB assignment response to the MSC. |
