PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-powered apparatus, system, and method for providing a pedestrian with information.SOLUTION: The present invention harvests energy created by a pedestrian 110 and recharges an energy storage device that is embedded in a footwear 130. Also, a microcontroller, sensor, and transmitter/receiver mechanism can be embedded in the footwear 130. A signal is transmitted or received by the transmitter/receiver mechanism. The footwear 130 may be capable of receiving a signal transmitted by a portable device 100 or a GPS satellite 120. The GPS satellite may provide information about a geographical location of the pedestrian. Since the energy storage device may be flexible, it can survive on the footwear 130 which gets flexed a significant amount. An energy harvester may harvest energy from the footsteps of the pedestrian 110 or some other sources and recharge the energy storage device so that there is no need to replace the energy storage device that is an essential and inseparable part of the footwear 130. |
