PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce size of a rotary electric machine and reduce drug loss, in a four-wheel drive vehicle whose rear wheels or driven wheels are driven by the rotary electric machine.SOLUTION: The four-wheel drive vehicle includes: a variable field system type MG (Motor Generator) 3 which is coupled to rear wheels 166a, 166b or driven wheels, and in which a flux linkage amount of a stator is variable. A hybrid ECU 170 determines whether or not the rear wheels 166a, 166b or driven wheels have to be driven, according to a running state. A motor ECU 140 controls the flux linkage amount of the MG 3 for reducing drug loss when drive of the rear wheels 166a, 166b or driven wheels do not have to be driven. The motor ECU 140 maximizes the flux linkage amount of the MG 3 when drive of the rear wheels 166a, 166b or driven wheels have to be driven. |
