An apparatus and a method for providing a service of a mobile communication terminal using a command input window are provided to allow a user to make a command, which is used to utilize the service and set/change a function, personally. A registration command and service setting information including service information to be executed according to the registration command are set. A command key is selected so that a command input window is displayed on a screen(61). A command is input into the command input window(63). It is determined if the input command is the registration command(64). A service is performed according to the service setting information and displayed on the screen if the input command is the registration command(66).
