PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver capable of reducing a switching time, and also enabling a user to have light operational feeling such as being instantaneously switched to a receiving image when channels are continuously switched by a channel up/down key in the television receiver receiving a digital broadcast. SOLUTION: The television receiver is provided with a BS digital receiving means, a terrestrial digital receiving means, an output switching means for selectively outputting either of a received video signal and a sound signal, and a control means for executing control to continuously make receiving channels of the BS digital receiving means and the terrestrial digital receiving means up or down and the switching control of the output switching means. The control means alternately executes the control to make the receiving channels up or down. The control means also executes the output switching control so that the video signal and the sound signal on the side not subjected to the control to make the receiving channels up or down are selectively outputted. Consequently, it is possible to provide the television receiver capable of reducing the switching time and enabling the user to have the light operational feeling such as being instantaneously switched to the receiving image.
