<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device in which the fixing force of a particle layer on an intermediate transfer body is improved. <P>SOLUTION: Microwave applicators 22 and 24 are provided so that they face the surface and the back of an intermediate transfer body 12. These microwave applicators 22 and 24 heat an ink-receiving particle layer 20 formed on the surface of the intermediate transfer body 12 by a particle feeder 16. This heating softens (or melts) the surface of particles 18 to generate adhesion between the particles 18. This increases bonding strength between particles to suppress movement or scattering of the particles 18 on the intermediate transfer body 12 to prevent separation of the particles 18 from the intermediate transfer body 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
