PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing composite type particles for a display medium for improving static charge holding properties suitable for an information display panel. SOLUTION: In the method for producing particles for the display medium used for the information display panel, wherein the display medium having optical reflectance and charge properties is encapsulated between two substrates at least one of which is transparent; static charge is imparted to the display medium and the display medium is moved to display an information image; each of the particles for the display medium has a construction, wherein an auxiliary particle of a metal oxide is embedded in the surface of a mother particle; and the auxiliary particles are subjected to treatment with a treatment agent containing an isocyanate group and then coupled with the mother particle to form the composite type particle.
