PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent creation of data the value of which cannot be guaranteed in an unallocated actual area of a virtual volume.SOLUTION: A management unit 2 manages a logical volume provided inside the virtual volume achieved by a plurality of disk drives distributively managing data made redundant. A reconstruction processing unit 3 performs reconstruction processing of securing redundancy of the data according to a fault of a prescribed disk drive of the disk drives achieving the virtual volume 4. When detecting abnormal conditions in an area of the virtual volume 4, a reconstruction processing unit 3 decides whether the area is an area allocated with the logical volume. When detecting the abnormal conditions in the area not allocated with the logical volume of the virtual volume, the reconstruction processing unit 3 initializes the area. |
